I have a Sprint Evo 4G. Also, I would like to ask after spending hours researching how to root this phone if taco root gives me temp root, can I downgrade and then use revolutionary??? What Device are you guys selecting from the "Supported Devices" drop down menu? You can use Tacoroot, for which there are step by step instructions if you Google them, you will find , or you can use HTCDev. XDA Developers was founded by developers, for developers.

Stock Evo (HTC Supersonic) ROM? | [H]ard|Forum
If you truly lost your ESN, then something went majorly wrong, and it's time to trade in the phone. I've never tried to revert back to the stock recovery either, but I'm sure you can find a way to flash it without flashing the whole RUU. As far as the new unrootable update goes, I remember reading one thread where someone got a replacement phone from Sprint with the update that was still S-off.
Hate to tell you, your phone is fucked. I've forgotten my password.
Android 2.3.3 RUU STOCK 4.2
Aug 3, 8. Posted 20 February - Aug 7, AshtonAug 5, Are you talking about the Hardware issue?
I tried unlocking an evo 3d and i went thru the motions of unlocking it via HTC's steps, it never unlocked. Just flash one of these: Apparently that's not something they check and fix in their refurbs.
Guest Quick Reply no urls or BBcode. Multiupload is no longer around. I have read about taco root, but I need concise like my stupid spelling! But it's not as if you could use the 3D 2.33. to help you root a 4G anyway.

Reinstalling Clockworkmod for Evo 4G - HTC EVO 4G | Android Forums
That's what you have. Has this already been shared?
That's why I was asking you to study first. If that post was accurate, then it would seem that the update breaks the rooting methods currently used, but doesn't remove root if you already have it.
Funny I should come across this thread because I just took my launch day Evo to the sprint store yesterday after removing CM7 or course for a broken power button. Ebo for the file. There is not a root method available for it, leaving many stranded until the Unrevoked guys pull through.
How do I root HTC EVO 4g on 2.3.5?
You have a phone that presumably doesn't work and you are worried about root? So I am going to post ruu so I am one step closer AshtonAug 7, Log in or Sign up.
Also, I read on XDA forums somewhere that you can run the latest RUU- here is evl of post followed by link There have also been a couple reports of difficulty applying HTC's unlock to new phones that shipped with the updated software preloaded.
I honestly do not think you understand. I'll bite, and help myself and you out, what exactly do you want to share it for? You currently have javascript disabled. Yes, my password is:
